Nothing like an internet identity crisis to end 2016. It’s actually pretty fitting I guess. But 2017 called for a digital makeover.
I have been feeling disconnected from “ShopaholicProbz” for a while now. Toward the end of 2016 I had a full on identity crisis and decided it was time to do something about it. ShopaholicProbz started as a Twitter account when I was a senior in college studying marketing, as a hobby to support my shopping addiction. It actually ended up teaching me a lot about marketing and social media as my following grew. Not to mention it was fun and validation for all the money I was spending!
Over time it became hard to manage multiple social media accounts so I merged my personal and anonymous ones. Suddenly I found myself not only talking about fashion and shopping but also everything else that was going on in my life. My adventures, health, beauty, my love of the zodiac and all things celestial, and even reality tv (cough, The Bachelor). But the name “ShopaholicProbz” was suffocating me. I felt like misleading branding myself as one thing and talking about another. So I became less active on my social media accounts and on this blog.
Quitting is lame though and I still believe that I have valuable information to share. And I’ve always loved having conversations with all of you about our shared interests (and shit that pisses us off)! So I decided 2017 was time to switch things up and though I haven’t truly been anonymous for years, officially give a name and face to the account.
So for those of you who don’t know… hi, I’m Kristen (you can learn more about me in my bio). If you have been following me for a while, you might have noticed that my new blog name matches a tattoo of mine.
I will give you guys the full background story on diamonds & daisies next week, but it is a much better representation of who I am and the kind of content that I want to share. Plus it’s inked on my wrist, so clearly already permanently part of my personal brand.
Still a focus on fashion and style, as that remains a passion of mine. But with a little twist: moving forward I will only be shopping ethical brands (to the best of my ability).
I took a hiatus from talking about fashion on here for two primary reasons:
In addition, I will be posting about all the other stuff in between. Below is a list of the non-fashion topics I will exploring:
